The Susquehanna Regional Police, along with the Lancaster County Crash Team, were called to a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at 2420 Rt 441/River Road in Conoy Township at 6:38 a.m. on Oct. 24, according to a police release.
They arrived to find "the driver of the vehicle involved was alert and responsive" but the motorcyclist was unconscious near the crash scene.
"The rider was transported to Hershey Medical Center in critical condition to undergo emergency treatment," the police said.
The road was closed between Governor Stable Road and Keener Road. The police expected the area to remain closed for "a few hours until the investigation is complete."
Travelers were asked to avoid the area, but tractor-trailer drivers were given more specific instructions. They needed to "reroute using Amosite Road and are advised not to turn on Governor Stable Road," the police said.
The area completely reopened as of 10:50 a.m., according to the police.
